But let us tell you how it got these rings. 😎 The second largest planet in our solar system, and arguably the most stylish, Saturn is known for its massive ring system extending up to 175,000 miles (282,000 kilometers) from the planet. They’re thought to be pieces of comets, asteroids, or shattered moons that broke up before reaching the planet, torn apart by Saturn's powerful gravity. The rings consist of billions of chunks of ice and rock coated with another material such as dust, and their particles range from tiny, dust-sized icy grains to pieces as big as a house! 🤯A few particles are as large as mountains. 🤯 If you looked at them from the top of Saturn's clouds, they would appear mostly white to the naked eye.
