4 scores ago today (January 23, 1941 in case your friends ask), local authorities, military representatives, and agency officials assembled in Cleveland, Ohio to break ground at the future site of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) new research laboratory. Cleveland at the time was the home of the nationโs most advanced airport, local aircraft manufacturers, and the National Air Races.
Now, the laboratory, now known as NASAGlenn, is one of 10 centers and a leading economic contributor to the Cleveland area.
