🐲🐲 Double the dragon… double the fun!
Today, SpaceX's upgraded Dragon cargo spacecraft carrying 6,400 pounds of science & a brand new airlock autonomously docked to the ISS at 1:40 p.m. EST with the guidance from NASAAstronauts Kate Rubins (speaking in the clip) and AstroVicGlover. This is the first-ever automated docking for a SpaceX cargo resupply mission, and the very first time two Dragon spacecraft are on station simultaneously.
🤔What are some of the highlights of payloads onboard this mission you ask?
➡️ A study aimed at better understanding heart disease to support development of treatments for patients
➡️ Research into how microbes can be used for biomining on asteroids
➡️ Tools being tested for fast & accurate blood analysis in microgravity
After Dragon spends about a month or so at the station, the spacecraft will return to Earth with a variety of research. We can’t wait to see what it brings home!
