✨ Globular clusters are ornate spheres of stars that speckle the Milky Way.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This one, imaged by the NASA and EuropeanSpaceAgency’s Hubble Space Telescope, is a standout in its class because of its high amount of heavy metals. Most clusters are much older than the majority of stars in their host galaxy, but this one is “only” between 10 and 11 billion years old. Astronomers estimate the Milky Way to be just above 13 billion years old. For reference, our solar system is only about 4.5 billion years old.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Credit: ESA/NASAHubble⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #Stars #Space #Astronomy #WeAreYoung #MilkyWay
