Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Won't you be my neighbor?👋 ⁣ ⁣ While many galaxies live solitary lives, others interact with a neighbor galaxy, like this duo spotted by our NASAHubble Space Telescope over 250 million light-years from Earth. ⁣ ⁣ These neighbors are interacting in the cosmos, with their mutual gravitational attraction pulling wisps of gas and streams of dust from them, distorting their shapes, and gently smudging and blurring their appearances on the sky — to Earth-based observers, at least. Thanks to Hubble, our view of the universe and our place within it has never been the same.⁣ ⁣ Image credit: EuropeanSpaceAgency/Hubble & NASA, K.
