🌀As Hurricane Dorian continues its move towards land, satellite missions from NASA and NOAA are keeping an eye on the storm from space. After brushing past Puerto Rico, the storm began intensifying over open waters. On Aug. 29, forecasters noted: “Strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and Dorian is expected to become a major hurricane on Friday, and remain an extremely dangerous hurricane through the weekend.” Seen here is a composite image of the strengthening storm from the GOES-16 satellite.
