The ASU California Center at the historic Los Angeles Herald Examiner Building is hosting the ninth Americas Media Summit. Guests at this year's summit include journalists, fact checkers, and guests from government and educational organizations. The first session of the Summit began with an address by Battinto L. Batts Jr., Dean and Professor, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Arizona State University. After Dean Batts' opening remarks, speakers included Roberta Braga, Director, Counter-Disinformation Strategies, Equis Institute, and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, Senior Advisor for the Summit of the Americas; Former Congresswoman (FL-26th).
