What an amazing post for the Rough Rider athletic community to read! ❤️ In November of 2021, six year old Blake Michel, the son of two former Roosevelt graduates and nephew of TRHS teacher/coach Jesse Michel, was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer that forms in soft tissue. The Rough Rider community rallied behind Blake holding various fundraisers and events. After he battled through months of treacherous chemotherapy and radiation, Blake was able to declare victory over cancer on March 24th, 2023. Three months and one day later, an eight year old Blake brought the crowd to tears by having the GAME WINNING HIT in the 8u state semi final baseball game.
