Check out part of Norman Baldwin's song that he created at our workshop! Norman was the lead singer for a seven-member band that performed mainly for students at the University of Alabama where he was also a professor. Once he retired, he moved back to Athens. Norman was drawn to the Vic Chesnutt Songwriting Workshop because he became a compulsive songwriter with an insatiable thirst for learning new skills for the craft of songwriting. The seminar was an initial opportunity to listen to skilled songwriters share the significant lessons they have learned in developing their craft. He learned what they shared in common, as well as the skills and tricks that are unique to individual songwriters. The workshop gave him the opportunity to work one on one with a songwriting professional in crafting an actual song.
