Another day, another judge! We are so thankful to announce Amy Ray as one of our judges this year.
For over 30 years, Amy Ray has been renowned as one half of the Grammy-award winning folk duo Indigo Girls. She is also a community activist and has had an indie label, Daemon Records since 1989. With her debut solo album, Stag (2001), Ray turned in her acoustic for an electric and delivered a critically acclaimed album that showed her love of punk and rock. Since then, she has release 2 live records and 5 more solo studio albums; her rock/punk records-Prom, Didn’t It Feel Kinder, Lung of Love; and 2 country records which were both produced by Brian Speiser and mixed by Trina Shoemaker. Her 2014 release, Goodnight Tender was her first foray into traditional country music, quickly followed by a live recording called The Tender Hour, which was recorded at Seattle’s Triple Door.
