Hitting a PR Clean only days after completing a spartan race wasn’t on the list of things to do. But here it is. Less than perfect and fodder for the critics.
I don’t aim for PR’s these days. My focus has been on running. On average: I run 2-3 times per week, do CF style workouts twice a week, and weightlift once a week. This is why I love programming.
Manipulating a program to reflect goals isn’t as simple as choosing some movements and reps and calling it a day. For someone who wants to be better at running, has a love for CF workouts, and would like to get stronger (but not a necessity), the details within each workout has to be precise enough to elicit the appropriate response from the system in order to produce the correct adaptation (running efficiency, CF capacity, and strength). It’s a delicate balancing act when done correctly.
If you have goals and don’t pay attention to the details of your workout, do you know if you’re moving in the right direction?
