After Matthew Waeckerle graduated from Lafayette in 2015, he went to Kansas to play college lacrosse, having little idea that his journey would bring him back to the halls he used to roam as a student. “I left St. Louis looking to find a different opportunity than what I knew. At the University of Saint Mary, I was able to have an immediate impact for the team. In my time playing, I have played every position on the field. From goalie to facing off to attack, I know every aspect of the sport. This experience will give me an advantage when I coach. Once I finished my time in Kansas, I knew that I wanted to come back to St. Louis. Lafayette and this community has always had a special place in my heart. As soon as I saw a [job] opening here, I jumped in my car and headed back to St. Louis. I love being here and am looking forward to another season of coaching,” Waeckerle said.
