On November 17, 1966, the San Diego Sports Arena (now Pechanga Arena) hosted its first event as the San Diego Gulls beat the Seattle Totems 4-1. Did you know the world record for the fastest indoor mile (3:52.6) was set by Ireland’s Eammon Coghlan at the Jack-in-the-Box Indoor Invitational track meet at the San Diego Sports Arena in 1979?
