Meryl is the Race Director for the Heineken 0.0 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K – taking place June 4 and 5 – and sits on the Advisory Board for Sports San Diego, as well as the North Park Business & Neighborhood Foundation and North Park Community Association boards.
Over the past five years, Meryl says the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego event has consistently brought in approximately $50 million in economic impact to the city and over $25 million in direct spending over the course of the weekend. Hotel room nights range from 25,000 to 35,000, and the race series spends about $1 million each year contracting with local vendors, businesses, and city services such as police and fire.
