This week, we’re highlighting a venue in San Diego’s East County. Sportsplex USA Santee is a 20-acre facility that hosts over 350,000 people each year through sports leagues, tournaments, and corporate events – serving the needs of the community while bringing tourism dollars to local businesses. In addition to hosting a multitude of softball and soccer leagues on a regular basis, Sportsplex USA Santee can accommodate groups from 20 to 5,000 for corporate and other events, including food and beverage services. In 2012, John Olsen, member and then president of the Santee Chamber of Commerce, said “Sportsplex has benefited the community of Santee by providing over a million dollars of direct retail sales to the community and all the businesses in town.
