We’re excited to be a host city for the ncaa’s #MarchMadness! The First and Second Round tournaments will take place at sandiegostateuniversity’s viejasarena this Friday and Sunday ... here are some #facts you might not have known about this space!
The arena as we know it today opened in 1997, but was built on the site of the old Aztec Bowl stadium, which hosted games and events from 1936 'til 1967. Viejas Arena seats more than 12,000 for basketball games, including 240 ADA accessible and companion seats. And we're coming up on the anniversary of when the #Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians announced the signing of their naming rights agreement—March 17, 2009.
