The colorful streets of Freiburg in the Black Forest of Southwest Germany. If you look on the left hand side of the corridor you can see an example of Bächle that outline the streets of the old city. Bächle are small aqueducts that carry water from the nearby Dreisam river. Archeologists have discovered that The Freiburg Bächle have been in use since the founding of the city in 1120 and were used as water supply and methods of firefighting within the city. The age of municipalities in Europe is staggering and amazing. . . . . #igworldclub #capturestreets #urbanshot #storyofthestreet #traveltheworld #getlost #travelstoke #lonelyplanet #traveladdicts #worldtravelbook #earthescope #passionpassport
