In 2019, I ran the #WDWHalf. I did not train well before it, but figured I had #run a handful of half marathons, and I’d be fine. I was wrong. The second half of the race I was miserable and in pain. As I hit the medic tent just before mile 11, I was ready to quit. I almost told them just to drive me to the end. Somehow I managed to go the last two miles, but I was miserable. I cried as I crossed the finish line. I could hardly walk back to the bus. I laid across the backseat of the car with a heating pad on the way home. Fast forward to today. I returned to the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, and I crushed it! This was my first #HalfMarathon since that awful one in 2019, but this time, everything felt good. I still didn’t train as well as I would have liked to, but at the end of the day, I’m so happy! And as I hit mile 11 today, I took joy in knowing the final two miles were going to be glorious.
