Armbruster Stageway (Originally Armbruster & Co.) was founded in 1887 by Tom Armbruster, Charles Kaiser, and Walter Walkford in Fort Smith, AR, where they began repairing and crafting horse-drawn wagons. As transportation evolved, the company eventually switched gears to automobiles. In the 1920s, they made their mark in the industry by creating the first stretch coach for Jordan Bus Lines. đ
đ The company would remain in the vehicle customizing business for the foreseeable future, manufacturing about 20 cars a year. The company merged with Stageway Coaches in the 1960s, leading to growth and success in the 70s and 80s.
