Unkind and hurtful comments are hard to deal with. If you're a business, positive & negative feedback needs to be listened to & dealing with unpleasant or aggressive comments can sometimes be necessary. But it can take some courage to rise above cruel remarks. This lady did just that. Ingrid Bergman became the victim of what we would now class as "trolling" when she embarked on an affair with director Roberto Rosellini. Both of them were married at the time but she became the target for ridicule, criticism, and hatred. Banned from Hollywood & the American film industry, one U.S. Senator even went as far as saying she was "a horrible example of womanhood and a powerful influence for evil." Just imagine if Twitter had been around then! They’d have had a field day. But, proving that you can bounce back from unpopular opinion, Ingrid rose above it. Her eventual return to Hollywood after many years, saw her star in "Anastasia" for which she even won the Oscar for Best Actress. How’s that...
