Got any side hustles or extra jobs you do? As well as being a social media manager, I'm also a part-time swimming teacher. When I took redundancy from ITV, around the same time I became a single parent, my side hustle then was as a freelance voiceover, but that's a very up and down business and I couldn't rely on it paying a regular enough wage, so swimming teaching became my fallback and meant I could be around for my kids in their school holidays without the worry of having to take time off work. I'd been swimming competitively since I was 8 and practically grew up in a pool so when I needed a job that worked with my family commitments, previous experience + passion = win, win. I've been teaching a few hours at a local swim school now for 14 years.
