With ageing comes change. And with change comes acceptance. It has to otherwise we end up fighting and resisting and making ourselves unhappy. I’m not talking about giving in or giving up or making sacrifices or compromises where we choose not to. I’m talking about accepting that as a woman of 51, the menopause is inevitable and along with that my body will go through certain changes which I have to accept and manage too; Find ways around difficulties; Pay attention to certain aspects of my life that need it; Be kind to myself. My son is a Type 1 Diabetic and I follow a lot of diabetes groups and posts. Many of them talk about their “battle” with diabetes. My son and I chose right from the start not to see his diabetes as a fight but as something that made him who he is. Go with the flow, sort of thing.
