I put out a poll in early March to ask about HRT, alternative therapies/treatments and lifestyle changes. Back then, 66% said they’d try alternative therapies first; that a visit to a GP and HRT was a last resort. I wondered whether there was a shift in this thinking now given the great work in raising awareness of HRT that people like @behindthewoman1 , @laura_shuckburgh @bbcmenopause , @lizearleme @menopause_doctor and @50Sense (among others) have done. So I ran another poll last week. It seems awareness is shifting. This time the poll came out that 33% view HRT as a last resort. That doesn’t mean more of us will necessarily choose to take HRT but it does mean that perhaps we’re starting to squash the myths that have surrounded this treatment for too long. That the fear and misguidance is dissipating. And that’s kind of what we set out to do. Lifestyle changes and alternative therapies can greatly improve menopausal symptoms but so can HRT.
