There are so many different types of yoga out there, how do you know which one you might want to do? Do you want a more physically demanding class or an easy, relaxing, meditative class? Each style of yoga is a bit different from the others and you'll find variations depending on the teacher. And even if you're a seasoned yogi and used to one style of class, it's always a challenge to try out another.⠀ ⠀ Today, here's a quick look at Hatha yoga:⠀ ⠀ The Sanskrit term "hatha" is an umbrella term for all physical postures of yoga. Most forms of yoga in the west are classified as Hatha Yoga . Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Power yoga classes are all Hatha yoga in that they are grounded in a physical practice but classes defined as hatha usually focus more on the poses (asanas) and less on the chanting side of things and are less flowing than the other styles.
