Today is heavy. The world and specifically the LGBTQ+ community of my generation lost someone special. Naya Rivera as Santana Lopez in Glee was the first queer role I’d seen in a television show. Especially during the confusing high school & college years, this was everything.
•
Naya created a trailblazing story in Santana that helped confused kids like me find comfort, understanding and bravery in a scary world.
•
Now ten years later, I just binge watched Glee a few months ago amidst the pandemic to pass time and it brought back all those emotions. I was reminded of how grateful I am for Naya Rivera.
•
And with her passing today, I am absolutely gutted. I can’t imagine the hurt in those close to her.
•
Rest In Peace.

Today is just heavy. Who am I kidding, 2020 is heavy. And starting to become unbearable. Signing off for now. 📷
