I was locked up at #ProvoCanyonSchool for 11 months. It was by far the most terrifying and traumatic experience I have ever been through in my life. Most of the staff who worked there were extremely abusive and got pleasure from inflicting pain emotionally and physically on myself and the other students. I endured and witnessed things that no child should ever have to see or experience. I have had severe nightmares as a result of this ever since I was a teenager. The trauma has affected me in so many ways till this day. I suffer from insomnia, anxiety, major trust issues and PTSD. I am speaking out and #BreakingCodeSilence to raise awareness and let other survivors know that they are not alone and feel safe to tell their story. I know how difficult it is but hopefully by me opening up and telling mine others will finally be believed and feel validated to tell their truth.
