On February 1, 2021 the military forces in Myanmar executed a coup d’état, overthrowing the elected leaders. This resulted in an eruption of violence and protests across the country. ⁠ ⁠ From the outset, Braxton and Robert—two of CRI’s U.S.-based staff members—were coordinating with our international missionary partner, Lian. Faced with a political uprising in the middle of a pandemic, what was the best path forward for his family and the students in his care? ⁠ ⁠ Ultimately, they decided it was best for them to evacuate the country.⁠ ⁠ Now Lian is transforming his ministry to reach his fellow refugees.
