To show thoughtfulness, generosity, and love toward another—that is to make a heart sing! Braxton, CRI’s Operations Manager, shares about a time he experienced this overseas:⁠ ⁠ “In the summer of 2015, I was a brand new CRI staffer living and working in Dondo, Mozambique. There were tough seasons in the four months I was there, but one of the brightest lines running through that time was the friendship I developed with my next-door neighbors: Mateos, Elena, and their kids (pictured). ⁠ ⁠ I have so many good memories of them: Danny asking me for help with his math homework, the first time Cecilia smiled at me, Tony playing pranks, seeing the hours-old baby Rosa after Elena gave birth. It was great to have friends to say goodbye to as I left for the day and greet me when I returned home. I learned more Portuguese through chatting with them by the fire at night than any other way.⁠ ⁠ But, I think most fondly of Mateos.
