#heartsing is in full swing, and it has our CRI staff reminiscing on their fondest memories overseas. This week, Kathy writes about Florence, a widow from Malawi.
“When I met Florence, our spirits connected. We were both single women who enjoyed laughing—a lot. Florence told me about the history of her house and her heritage. She was proud of the family God had given her. She invited me and some of my teammates into her shack. I asked if I could pray over her and the home. She grinned and agreed, delighted. Do you know what an honor that was? To be invited into her home, to lay my hands on her shoulders and pray that she receive the words I spoke to be heard by God? It meant so much.
Months ago, Florence passed. I rejoiced that we knew the same God, that He had given us that day together. To get to travel to meet widows worldwide, to worship our God together, this is what makes my heart sing.”
