Fridays are our favorite, especially #fieldnotesfriday! Today, we bring you a story from Dondo Clinic in Mozambique, where Lindsey, a member of our staff, served in January. “Project Life caretakers Maria and Fatima met me at the doors of the hospice ward. Maria held a pot of soup between her hands. She asked which one of us, me or my teammate, would share a word. I raised my hand. ‘Great!’ she responded. ‘Just say whatever God lays on your heart.’ In the waiting area, I noticed a girl lying on a bench. She looked about three. Her bones showed through her hospital gown. Maria traced my stare. ‘She goes by Fati. Turned nine last week. Here for complications with HIV.’ We moved closer to the bench. ‘My Fati!’ exclaimed Fatima. ‘Out of your bed again I see! How are you today?’ Fati gave a weak smile. ‘Not so good then,’ Fatima continued. ‘I know just the thing to help…’” Read the rest of Lindsey’s journal entry on our Stories Page. Link in bio.
