Before the weekend kicks off, check out this reflection from Leo, who served with us in Mozambique last month.⠀ ⠀ “The Green Door home dedication I attended in Mozambique captured the heart of CRI's work, the beauty and the suffering.⠀ ⠀ Until then, I had never seen anyone dance for joy. The man of the house, first set of keys in-hand, leapt off his new front step to join the dancers below. Moments later, I began to pass out the celebratory cakes. I hoped we would have enough. As the children gathered around, I recognized hunger’s desperation in their grasps. Adults warned them to mind their manners, but I didn’t mind the jostling.⠀ ⠀ Later, we packed up to leave. I took my spot in the van and reflected on the tension between the beauty of CRI’s work and the overwhelming need that remains. The poor will always be with us. But I’m thankful to have had the chance to help—one home, one child at a time.” #fieldnotesfriday
