Happy Friday, everybody!⠀ ⠀ Meet Saba. Saba lives in South Asia. At age five, she arrived at a government-run orphanage for HIV-positive children. She felt weak and exhausted. Toddlers surpassed her in height. The medication she took for HIV had stunted her growth. ⠀ ⠀ Today, Saba is 16 years old. The “miracle milk,” fruit, and eggs that our international partners provide her each day help her to grow and thrive. At school, she enjoys class discussions and conversations with friends. She talks to Jesus too. “He listens to my prayers,” she says. ⠀ ⠀ In two years, Saba will turn 18. At that time, the government will no longer allow her to stay at the orphanage. But she has our partners. They’ve watched her grow up, and they want to help. So do we. ⠀ ⠀ We envision a program for Saba and other HIV-positive adolescents who have aged out of the orphanage. We will provide them with housing, food, and medical care. By the time Saba moves on, she will have mastered a trade to support herself.⠀ ...
