“Earlier today, while attending the Prizmah Jewish Day School Conference in downtown Denver, I received a text from rabbi_emhy at Temple Emanuel. Rabbi Hyatt told me that govofco wanted to be sworn in for his second term today with a Tanakh in hand. But his Tanakh had been misplaced, so he needed another–in about 30 minutes. All of a sudden, I was in a whirlwind race for the Governor, going in search of a Tanakh, telling my story to the vendor at the Mesorah Publications booth. Smiling, he handed me a Tanakh. Then I dashed to my car, drove to the Capitol building, got clearance from security, and finally delivered the Tanakh to a member of the Governor’s staff–just seconds before he was sworn into office. It’s something I don’t think I will soon forget.” - Head of School/CEO, Avi Halzel Congratulations, Governor Polis! #denverjds #governorpolis #proudtobeajew
