Our fifth grade had a fantastic time on their double overnight field trip last week to Estes Park. During their days in the mountains, they hiked through the vast YMCA of the Rockies campus and participated in all sorts of team-building activities. This included problem-solving tasks, the Montane Ecology Class (finding and categorizing various Rocky Mountain species), outdoor living skills (students constructed their own shelters), Fire Ecology (students created models of their own wildfire-safe villages out of forest materials), and so much more. To top it all off, they saw plenty of elk and spent their evenings with a campfire and smores and roller skating! What an educational and ultimate class bonding experience, and we're beyond thankful it all worked out! #denverjds #classtrip #mishpacha
