Extremism in Idaho has been on the rise. It was only three months ago this past July that the Statesman also wrote ‘Counterterrorism experts and U.S. officials are watching the evolution of extremism in Idaho with alarm.’ (links in the bio). Idahoans are moving because of it. Businesses won’t locate here because of it. It’s running roughshod over community institutions like public education, the post office, libraries, and more and our friends and neighbors who help run them. The problem with my opponent claiming he wants to restore the reputation of the Lieutenant Governor’s office after McGeachin’s tenure is that he helped enable far-right victories like McGeachin’s. Mr. Bedke became Speaker of the House in 2012—a full decade ago. What has he done to help stop it? Nothing. Some people openly align themselves with extremists, like McGeachin.
