We’ve already lost access to more than 1.7 million acres of state land forever after they were liquidated to private interests — an area approaching the size of the Sawtooth National Forest. Transferring public lands to the state would drive Idaho’s budget for fire management and related costs through the roof, forcing the sale of lands to private owners, closing off access to sportsmen and devastating Idaho’s outdoor economy.
