Coming up just a year after the Senators won their first Cup in the NHL is the 1921 Stanley Cup Final when they took on the Vancouver Millionaires. Yet again, they played a team from the PCHA as it was still a common practice for the Stanley Cup to be an interleague competition. All five games of this series were played at the Denman Arena in Vancouver. One of hockey’s first true superstars, Cyclone Taylor, would play in his final Stanley Cup Final this year. He played for the Ottawa Senators from 1907-09, but spent the majority of his career with Vancouver, from 1912-22. This was also the second consecutive year that Jack Darragh scored the Stanley Cup winning goal. Interestingly enough, this may not have happened. Darragh was originally unable to leave his day job to travel to Vancouver, but the mayor of Ottawa at the time, Frank Plant, personally requested that the Ottawa Dairy Company give Darragh the time of.
