I’m starting a new series as requested by one of my followers, top 10 Ottawa Senators first round picks. My criteria for this list was for the player to be drafted in the first round by Ottawa, obviously, and to have been a successful player in their time in Ottawa. What they did on other teams did not come into consideration here. I chose not to include recent first rounders such as Tkachuk, White, and Chabot, because they have only played in a couple of seasons and it would be unfair to judge them against players who have played hundreds of games for the Sens. Starting off the series at number ten is Anton Volchenkov. He was a stay at home defenceman who mostly contributed through solid defence and thundering hits. He never contributed much offensively, putting up 94 points in 428 games with the Sens, but he was a mainstay on the blue line for most of his seven years with the organization and was one of the key players who helped Ottawa get to the 2007 Stanley Cup Final. - - - - #ott...
