Apache Junction softball complex to be dedicated to former parks director Jeff Bell… The city of Apache Junction in November plans to dedicate Prospector Park Softball Complex in memory of former Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Bell. Bell — the city’s only parks director until his retirement in 2016 — died in 2019 after an illness. He was 61. Bell steered the city’s parks department for 35 years and oversaw the development of more than 2,000 acres of park and open space.
