Leisure tourism is continuing to progress while business and international travel are lagging behind in the Grand Canyon State, according to the latest data from the Arizona Office of Tourism. Leisure travel is gaining momentum and well ahead of the national average — which is at 92% of the visitor spending level for 2019, according to the latest numbers. That year, the state had an all-time high with 46.8 million visitors for the calendar year, said Joshua Coddington, director of communications for the Arizona Office of Tourism.
