As it's just a couple hours from Venice, we got to spend a few days there! Slovenia is absolutely lovely. We stayed near the port city of Koper on the Adriatic, and spent time in my new favorite place: the seaside city of Piran. Long ago, Piran was part of the Republic of Venice (it's right across the Adriatic) and it definitely feels Venetian. But without the hoards of tourists!
