It’s another baby animal for the Oregon Zoo. There’s baby rhino Tamu, born in December. And baby, well, toddler orangutan Jolene, who turns two next month. Now, the youngsters are joined by a very small Humboldt penguin. According to a press release from the zoo, the chick started “pipping” (breaking through its shell with its beak) on Saturday, March 2. Early in the morning of Monday, March 4, the baby emerged from its shell. Happy birthday to the new Humboldt penguin! 🥳 📸: Michael Durham, courtesy of the oregonzoo #humboldtpenguin #penguin #oregonzoo #animals #cute #conservation #theoregonian
