A Filipino family’s love language is FOOD. When we visit family, it’s usually all revolves around the cooking and eating. This is a highlight of the food we had from our recent trip to Edmonton. 🤤
As I get older, I realize I need to start to write down our family recipes and start preserving the Filipino dishes that our parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents have made for us. I’ve always had the idea of compiling it in a family cookbook so it can be shared for generations and we don’t lose the food/culture that we come from. Sharing food is sharing a story, and I’d love to have our family’s story recorded in some way.
Also, who’s had a Sans Rival cake before?? 🙋🏻♀️ It has layers of buttercream, meringue, and different types of nuts and I LOVED it. It’s a popular dessert in the Philippines but I only had it for the first time during our visit (what else am I missing out on?!). What are your fav Filipino dishes?
