“In two weeks, we open bids for another fine new training school building. When we get all finished up down here, we are going to have the finest institution of its kind in this country, or in fact in any other country.” —Morris Elmer Dailey, president, California State Normal School, 1900-1918. _ This is how President Morris Dailey helped our college recover from the Great San Francisco Earthquake of 1906. With an auditorium named after him, Dailey is well-known for his leadership in establishing a number of campus landmarks including Tower Hall, completed in 1910. His optimism for transforming our college into the finest anywhere is shared by our new president. _ Join us at 9:30 a.m. May 4 on Tower Lawn to witness the swearing in of our 30th president, Mary A. Papazian, PhD and hear about her optimism for SJSU’s future. go.sjsu.edu/zeckmW #SJSUpresident
