First, I check to make sure the damage is not active. Then I want to make sure the new owners get it fixed as soon as possible as to not cause more damage. 2. The main cleanout. This is going to tell you what your main sewer line is made of. Here in St. Pete cast iron was previously used, with most being updated to PVC. Tip: If you have cast iron, get a sewer scope and make sure there's no blockages. Cast iron cracks over time and deteriorates from the inside out. 3. Most importantly, the foundation of the home.
