Forster’s Terns are common visitors at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge and I frequently see them flying above my head before diving quickly into the water for small fish. On this particular day, I had a cooperative tern gracefully glide at eye-level during a windy day. I like to imagine he was smiling at me as I smiled at him struggling to steady my camera to capturing this moment.
Or maybe he was yelling hurry up?
