Today the_explorers_club and Mongolian paleontologist Bolortsetseg (Bolor) Minjin (mbolortsetseg) are taking us on a #FridayFieldTrip in honor of #AAPIHeritageMonth. Dr. Bolor is an Explorers Club Fellow and has played a pivotal role in stopping the sale of a fossil skeleton of the dinosaur Tyrannosaurus bataar, illegally collected from Mongolia. Pictured here is the Gobi desert, where Bolor conducts educational outreach. As the founder of the Institute for the Study of Mongolian Dinosaurs, her latest projects involve a conservation park to combat illegal fossil poaching and building a community-centered dinosaur museum at the desert’s Flaming Cliffs.
