The bison rut has come to an end in Yellowstone National Park. Males will sniff the air as they search for females to pursue, which is often followed by other bulls challenging them for mating rights. Being around rutting bulls is often referred to as the most dangerous scenario for visiting tourists. While many visitors think bison are slow and docile, the increased aggression during rutting season can result in tourists getting charged and, at times, gored. Like all wildlife, it's important to keep a safe distance to avoid harm to yourself or the animal!
