“Hi everyone! donalboyd here, and I’ll be sharing a few images from an elephant conservation initiative in Zimbabwe that I recently documented. Follow along today and tomorrow for the entire story! 🐘 . . . In early May, I travelled throughout Zimbabwe with action4ifaw and zen_wildislife (Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery – ZEN). There, I documented the rewilding of 6 rescued elephants. The elephants had to be transported with their caretakers some 700km to their new home. Finally, these rescued elephants have been successfully rehabilitated and are now ready to be released back into the wild where they belong. . . . Pictured here is Moyo, one of the most social elephants I’ve ever met. Moyo remains at the nursery to greet and comfort future orphaned elephants as they arrive to the facilities in Harare. . . P.S.
