Photo and text by Ben Mikha BenMikha | Imagine this: You wake up in the Valley Isle of Hawaii, pack your bags and head for the southern coastline. You arrive at a jetty full of idle sail boats, with the blue Pacific ocean ahead and golden volcanic mountains at the back. You climb aboard the first sail boat of the day, set out before the sun hits the horizon and sail into the deep blues of the Pacific. With the occasional manta ray floating by and a pod of dolphins in the distance, you sail towards the South West where a peaked land mass makes an appearance. As you draw nearer, you realise the island is the remnants of what once was an active volcano above sea level, yet now by the hands of time has been swallowed by the blue tides. The peak of the dormant volcano remains and forms a crescent shaped island, home only to an abundance of sea birds, you hear them perking up in the wake of the sun.
